Happy 4th July!

Hello friend,

Today is Independence Day in the US. While I’m not a US citizen, I’m grateful for the freedom and opportunities the US offers. I’m working online for US companies and I’m running a small online business using a lot of US tools and resources.

Here are some thoughts I want to share with you as a non-US citizen and Christian:

  1. Appreciation for Freedom: As individuals living outside the United States, we may not directly experience the same freedoms that Americans do on the 4th of July. However, we can still appreciate and celebrate the value of freedom. We recognize the historical significance of this day for Americans and join you in acknowledging the importance of cherishing and protecting the freedoms we enjoy in our respective nations.

  2. Solidarity in Global Community: The 4th of July serves as a reminder that we are part of a global community. While the celebrations primarily focus on American independence, let us also take this opportunity to foster unity and solidarity among nations. Despite our different backgrounds, cultures, and beliefs, we can come together in the pursuit of peace, justice, and freedom for all people around the world.

  3. Reflecting on Shared Values: On this day, as Americans commemorate their country's independence, let us all reflect on the shared values that unite humanity. Values such as liberty, equality, and justice are universal aspirations. As individuals, let us seek to embody these principles in our daily lives, not only for the benefit of our own nation but also as a contribution to the greater global family.

  4. Engaging in Global Responsibility: The 4th of July can inspire us to consider our responsibilities as global citizens. While celebrating the achievements of one nation, let us also remember the challenges faced by others. As Americans, you have the power to make a positive impact beyond your borders through engagement, support, and empathy. Let us extend our concern and compassion to those who long for the same freedoms we cherish.

  5. Prayer for Nations and Leaders: As we commemorate the 4th of July, let us take a moment to pray for nations worldwide, including the United States. Pray for leaders and decision-makers, that they may govern with wisdom, integrity, and compassion. Pray for peace and harmony to prevail among nations, fostering understanding and cooperation in a world that often faces division and strife.

As we join Americans in recognizing the 4th of July, let us embrace our shared humanity and work together towards a world where freedom, justice, and respect are cherished by all. May this day be a reminder that our global community thrives when we come together, appreciating and celebrating our collective pursuit of a better tomorrow.
